Riyadh International Disputes Week 2025
The Swiss Arbitration Ambassadors for the Middle East are organising a session titled “Taming the Beast – The Case for Limiting Document Production” on 27 February from 11:00 to 12:30 (GMT+3) during the Riyadh International Disputes Week (RIDW) 2025 at the Hilton Riyadh Hotel & Residences.
This session, led by Swiss Arbitration, will explore measures that parties and arbitral tribunals can take to limit document production in international arbitration. The panellists will consider and discuss recommendations developed by the ASA User Council Working Group on Document Production and set out in a Draft White Paper. Recommendations include, among others, full exclusion of document production, limitation to specific documents, reinforcing links to substantive law and burden of proof, no separate document production phase, and cost consequences. Participants are also encouraged to discuss additional ideas on how document production can be further contained.
Speakers:
- Christopher Boog – Partner, Schellenberg Wittmer, Zurich and Singapore, and President of the Arbitration Court of the Swiss Arbitration Centre
- Lara Hammoud – Sole Practitioner, Abu Dhabi, and Member of the User Council of the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA)
- Sara Aranjo Koleilat – Partner, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, Abu Dhabi, and Member of the Arbitration Court of the Swiss Arbitration Centre
