“The Course” by CIETAC
Summary
ASA is happy to be a supporting organisation of this years Summer/Fall Course in partnership with CIETAC, to be held virtually from late July to late September this year. This year, CIETAC, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Bar Association, will launch the third edition of the Summer/Fall Course (“the Course”), focusing on the Hong Kong Arbitration Ordinance. Since its enactment in 2011, the Hong Kong Arbitration Ordinance has provided a more competitive, modern, and user-friendly arbitration regime for Hong Kong. This ordinance is a crucial pillar in maintaining Hong Kong’s status as global leading commercial arbitration center. The Course will feature senior professors and arbitrators from both Hong Kong SAR and the Chinese Mainland, systematically covering the provisions and practice of Hong Kong Arbitration Ordinance while comparing it with PRC Arbitration Law, the UNCITRAL Model Law, and the UK Arbitration Act. This Course aims to meet the demand from lawyers, judges, arbitrators, and corporate legal professionals in the Greater Bay Area and other cities worldwide who need to understand Hong Kong arbitration law, creating a comprehensive and systematic lecture series to expand the influence of Hong Kong arbitration.
